The Lunch Club welcomes Conservative members and supporters to four lunches a year. These are held at local venues, Sindlesham Court and Sonning Golf Club to name a few. Lunch features a Member of Parliament as guest speaker. Recent guests include Sir Graham Brady and Jacob Rees Mogg and they usually attract between 70 and 90 guests.
We do hope you have all been able to get out and about a bit more and meet up with some family and friends and most of all that you have been keeping well.
The Committee have reluctantly come to the conclusion that we will need to cancel both the August and November Lunches as there is still a lot of uncertainty around hospitality. There is no guarantee that social distancing will not still be an issue even by the end of the year. In addition many of you may feel uncomfortable sitting in close proximity to other people for a long time to come.
We think everyone will be hopeful that by February 2021 we will be back to normal and that our current Members will be able to join us then. With this in mind, those of you who paid your annual subscription for 2020 will have it carried forward to 2021.
By way of some good news, we have just heard that Sir John Redwood has agreed to hold a virtual (Zoom) meeting for Lunch Club Members and Guests on Friday 21 August. Participants will need to have the Zoom App downloaded on their devices. Further details of the Zoom meeting will be sent nearer the time.
We do so hope that we will be able to welcome you to a normal Lunch in February 2021. In the meantime, take good care of yourselves.
