Wokingham Borough Councillor - Swallowfield

My wife Pippa and I have lived in Swallowfield for 36 years. We raised three daughters here who have now flown the nest.
I have had the privilege of being your representative at Wokingham Borough Council since 2005 and am very grateful for your support to re-elect me in May 2022, so that I can continue to represent our villages.

I am a firm believer in working with you all as a team. We have achieved a great deal together already. Let’s continue to do so. Recent planning appeal and planning application outcomes have shown that we must continue to fight for the right outcomes for our area.
With you and the Parish Council, I continue to work hard to combat and resist inappropriate housing development.

I have successfully campaigned for the reinstatement of the No7 bus which had been withdrawn by Reading buses leaving our villages without a bus service.
As this is used by many to go to their place of work or to travel to the medical practice and other purposes, I am therefore pleased that we have been able to reinstate the service whilst we review alternative longer term options.

I am always pleased to hear from residents, please contact me to share your views or if you need any help.

Yours sincerely
Stuart Munro

New jobs for Shinfield

Friday, 26 March, 2021

We are already an international centre for technology and innovation, with existing links to the film industry. Having this major film studio in the borough will take us that step further onto the global stage. This comes at the perfect time, just as we are heading into a period of recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. The jobs and inward investment from this project couldn’t come at a better time

Help for anyone looking for employment

Tuesday, 23 March, 2021

Our employment hub will provide a one-stop shop for anyone looking for work in our borough. Rising unemployment is a problem we’ve seen grow in the last year across the country, which may still get worse as we come out of lockdown, so we have stepped up to provide the facilities our residents will need to help them get back into work.”
