Wokingham Borough Council - Barkham
Deputy Leader
Executive Member for Finance and Housing

First elected in 2011, John is representing the residents of Barkham for his third term as a Borough Councillor and he is now the Deputy Leader of the Council and the Lead Member for Finance and Housing.

He was honoured to serve as the Wokingham Borough Mayor in 2018/2019.

"I have lived in the Wokingham area for over 26 years.  I have been married for 30 years and have 3 grown up children, a son and 2 daughters.  I have served as chairman on Arborfield and Newlands Parish Council and acted as governor at Shinfield Junior School.  I have spent the last 30 years in management having served on the board of companies both large and small."

Support for families struggling in the Wokingham Borough

Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic we have worked hard to support our residents who have faced a huge amount of pressure. No family or individual should go hungry in Wokingham Borough, now or in the future. We encourage anyone who is concerned about not being able to afford food for themselves, or their family, to contact our One Front Door service for immediate support.  
We’re very grateful for the local businesses and others in the community have made the offer to support families during half-term.
