Deputy Leader

First elected in 2011, John is representing the residents of Barkham for his third term as a Borough Councillor and he is now the Deputy Leader of the Council and the Lead Member for Finance and Housing.

He was honoured to serve as the Wokingham Borough Mayor in 2018/2019.

"I have lived in the Wokingham area for over 26 years.  I have been married for 30 years and have 3 grown up children, a son and 2 daughters.  I have served as chairman on Arborfield and Newlands Parish Council and acted as governor at Shinfield Junior School.  I have spent the last 30 years in management having served on the board of companies both large and small."


Small Business Grant funding draws to a close

In the past few months Wokingham Borough Council has given grants to 1,590 local small businesses, providing a lifeline to those who have been hard hit by the pandemic. Supporting our local economy and helping businesses thrive is incredibly important to us and remains at the forefront of our recovery plans.

Enjoy Outdoor Fitness Training with a Council Certified Trainer

Wokingham Borough Council's new Outdoor Fitness Training Permit gives personal trainers and coaches the freedom to move their individual and group sessions outside into our council-managed parks where social distancing is easier. The permits are free and can be applied for here.

As Councillors may be aware, robust evidence is emerging that the use of bailiffs to collect CT arrears produces less revenue than other methods, such as signposting residents to local debt advice organisations. Has the Council been in contact with other Local Authorities for example Basingstoke and Deane, and Rushmoor, who have signed the LGA/CA CTP

I have lived in Emmbrook with my husband and 3 children since 1986. My husband was born in Wokingham town and we are now the 4th generation living here. I have been a Wokingham Borough Councillor since May 2003 and was honoured to serve as Mayor for two years. I have also represented Emmbrook on Wokingham Town Council and served for 17 years including two as Town Mayor.

Pauline has lived in Earley with her family since 1984. She is married to Norman and their son David is a researcher at Imperial College.

First elected to the Borough Council in 2008, She is currently the Executive Member for Transport.
