Another new destination play park for families to enjoy

This is such an exciting time to live in Wokingham Borough.
We are building so many new facilities, including schools, major new roads, nature parks, leisure centres and now another new destination play park for families to enjoy.

Lest we forget

Councillors and staff at Wokingham Borough Council commemorated the 80th anniversary of The Battle of Britain on 15 September, by raising the RAF Ensign at Shute End.

The Prime Minister is right to say he does not want another national lock down. The Chancellor is right to warn of economic damage were the government to impose one.

       I sympathise with the government’s need to balance the aim of  getting deaths and serious illness from CV 19 down, and to allow recovery of the business activity from the economic disaster of lock down.

Waterproof recycling bags to solve wet paper problem

A proposal to replace the existing black recycling boxes with waterproof recycling bags in Wokingham Borough was given the go ahead at last week’s special meeting of the council’s Executive committee (11 September). 

Getting our money back

Margaret Thatcher understood the UK had a bad deal out of our EEC/EU membership. At a time when she was battling to get the public finances under control and to get value for money for UK taxpayers, she naturally expected the same of our EU contributions and budgets.
