Conservative run Wokingham Borough Council have rejected plans for 274 homes to be built at Kentwood Farm, following concerns raised by local residents.
Leader of the council, David Lee said: “Developers agreed to work together so that any new developments contribute toward improvements in infrastructure. The proposals at Kentwood Farm failed to meet this agreement which would have led to strain on local roads and schools.”
The plans were rejected on 18 separate counts. The developers, Crest Nicholson, have appealed and the final decision lies with the Planning Inspectors and ultimately the Secretary of State.
Thank you for your help so far. We need your help again to ensure that this unsuitable development does not take place.
If you share our concerns, please write to The Rt Hon Eric Pickles MP at the Department for Communities and Local Government, Eland House, Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5DU quoting #0/2010/0943 and urge him to throw out this appeal by Crest Nicholson.
