Cllr Carol Jackson-Doerge has been contacted by a large number of local residents over concerns about plans for the new Firlands development, asking for further details.
An application has been submitted for an outline proposal including a new supermarket, retail units and five residential flats. One significant concern is that, if the proposed outline were to be approved, it could lead to an increase in traffic near the Willink School.
Carol said, “I know residents have concerns about how this will impact our village community and local shops. Please contact me directly with your views on the project or write to the council with your concerns before the 19th March.”
Do you think the development would be good for our community, or do you have concerns? Please write to the Head of Planning & Countryside, West Berkshire Council, Market Street, Newbury, RG14 5LD quoting planning application number 12/00373/OUTMAJ or email plan@westberks.gov.uk copying in Carol at cjacksondoerge@westberks.gov.uk.
If you want your voice to be heard, act now as the deadline is the 19th March.
