Cllr Paul Swaddle, has been appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2014 New Year Honours for his voluntary political service.
Commenting on being named in the Queen’s New Year Honours List, Paul Swaddle, said: “I am deeply honoured and thrilled to have received this award which recognises not only my personal achievements within the Conservative Party but also the great team I have had around me throughout my time serving the membership of the Party as well as my time serving the public as a Councillor on Wokingham Borough Council.”
Paul went on to comment further “I joined the Conservative Party because I wanted to make a difference and serve my community. Little did I suspect that 16 years later I would be chairing the Conservative Party Conference having ensured that the two Reading seats turned blue along the way. I am proud to have championed an inclusive and progressive Conservative Party both nationally and locally, I hope I can continue to serve for many years.”
